MARIB (Debriefer)--The dynamics of war have changed following recent victories against the Houthi group in Yemen's provinces of Shabwah, Marib and Bayda, the spokesperson of the forces of the internationally recognised government Brig. Gen. Abdu Mujalli said on Wednesday.
In just ten days, our forces recaptured more than 5,000 square kilometres of land in the three provinces, he said in a news conference.
On Tuesday, the government and the Saudi-led coalition launched a major offensive against the Iran-allied Houthis in all front-lines, immediately after driving the Houthis from Shabwah.
The national forces have united and cut off the Houthi supply lines in Marib, retaking strategic positions in the districts of Al-Jubah and Harib and destroying 80% of the Houthi equipment and weapons, he said.
The recaptured areas included Al-Akadah along the eastern Al-Balaq, Al-Amoud, Ladhah, Bour and Al-Naq'ah, he said.
The national forces have pushed deeper into Bayda and liberated several regions, he said, pointing out that the province which has borders with eight provinces will be retaken soon.
