ADEN (Debriefer)--A Yemeni official on Monday said the government plans to announce a number of new nature reserves in the country.
Deputy water minister for environment Ammar Al-Awlaqi said preparations are underway to qualify three nature reserves in the provinces of Aden, Lahj and Socotra in a first step to protect depleted nature resources.
The general corporation for environment protection organised a workshop to discuss papers on Yemeni maritime resources and its plans to protect them.
The workshop also discussed threats to environment and dangers posed by the decaying Safer oil tanker.
