Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi-led coalition on Friday said its defenses shot down a Houthi drone en route to the Saudi northern city of Khamis Mushait.
"A bomb-laden drone launched by the Houthi militias towards Khamis Mushait was intercepted and destroyed," the Arab coalition said in a brief statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Houthis persistently try to target civilians and civilian objects, the statement added, labeling the "deliberate, systematic attempts as war crimes."
The coalition takes operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects in compliance with the international humanitarian law, according to the statement.
Neither the coalition located where the drone was launched, nor the Houthi group issued immediate comment on the incident.
While the UN, Washington and EU press for an end to Yemen's 6-year-old war, the Houthis step up their attacks on Saudi targets.
