MARIB (Debriefer)--The forces of Yemen's legitimate government have said they destroyed Houthi reinforcements with artillery shelling in Marib province.
The mouthpiece of the Defence Ministry, 26th September news website, said the shelling targeted the Houthi reinforcements on the Al-Kasarah front line in western Marib on Sun, destroying vehicles and killing and injuring those on board.
Early on Sunday, they said they shot down a Houthi explosives-laden drone over the capital city of Jawf province, Al-Hazm.
The Houthi Almasirah TV said a Saudi-led coalition fighting in support of the internationally recognised government has launched 15 airstrikes in the district of Serwah west of Marib where battles between government and Houthi forces have been intensifying for weeks.
The coalition also launched an airstrike in the district of Khabb was Ash Sha'af in Jawf, the TV said.
The Houthi group has recently intensified missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia coinciding with raging battles in the two provinces.
Hundreds of Houthi fighters, including many children, have been captured by the government forces on Marib front lines, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani has said.
