Aden (Debriefer) - Yemen's UN-recognized government on Sunday called on the international community to put an end to the Houthi unprecedented military escalation targeting the Yemeni northeastern city of Marib and Saudi lands.
In a statement, the Yemeni foreign ministry in Aden condemned the Houthi group's "terrorist targeting of Saudi cities" with ballistic missiles and bomb-laden drones.
"The Houthi threat to the region's security and stability is a war crime before the very eye and ear of international community, blatantly breaking the international law and UN charter," it said.
Yemen supports all the measures taken by the Kingdom to defend its lands and maintain its security and the safety of its citizens and residents, the statement read.
The Saudi-led coalition forces intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi group to target Aramco facilities in the Saudi eastern city of Dhahran, spokesman for the coalition said Sunday.
Shrapnel of the destroyed missile fell near civilian objects and civilians, Turki al-Maliki added, as the Saudi defense ministry "will take necessary and deterrent measures to protect its national resources."
