Muscat (Debriefer) - Saudi Arabia should stop its aggression and lift blockade imposed on Yemen for years instead of offering ideas and initiatives already discussed, spokesman for the Iranian-backed Houthi group said.
The points raised by the Saudi foreign minister, Faisal Bin Farhan, are old and were discussed at previous negotiations, including the resumption of Sana'a airport flights and oil tankers' release, Mohamed Abdul Salam added.
The Kingdom entered in Yemen's war prior to the Yemeni President's knowledge, making Riyadh a main party to this war and to negotiations, he argued.
Earlier on Monday, the Saudi FM declared new peace initiative to stop fighting and end war in Yemen with the Iranian-backed Houthi group.
Under the initiative, an inclusive nationwide ceasefire would directly monitored by the UN, blockade imposed by the Arab coalition on Hodeida port would be abated, Faisal Bin Farhan said.
In return, the Houthi-held port's tax revenues would be deposited into a joint account at the Central Bank of Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition would also allow for Sana'a airport to be reopened for limited number of direct regional and international destinations, the Saudi FM said.
But the Houthis insist that "aggression countries" should stop their military campaign and fully lift the blockade, as a condition to agree to any peace offer.
