Sana'a (Debriefer) - A Saudi national has been killed in Yemen while fighting in support of the Iranian-backed Houthi group against the Saudi-led coalition, member of the group's Supreme Political Council tweeted on Saturday.
"Martyr Abdul Aziz Youssef was from the Holly Mecca," Mohamed Ali al-Houthi added, calling for "honorable attendance to escort this martyr hero" to his last rest.
Youssef fought against, before being captured by, the group and refused to return home after being released under a prisoner swap deal and preferred to stay in Yemen, pushing his family to abandon him, according to social media activists.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas controlled by the Houthi group.
