RIYADH (Debriefer)--The Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday it shot down a new drone which fired by the Houthi group towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The explosives-laden drone was intercepted and destroyed inside Yemen, it said in a statement carried by the Saudi press agency.
We are taking operational measures to protect civilians from deliberate Houthi attacks against them and civilian objects, it said.
The coalition has been fighting the Iran-allied Houthi group in support of Yemen's internationally recognised government since 2015.
The group has recently intensified drone and missile attacks against Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the Saudi-led military campaign against its forces.
