SANAA (Debriefer)--The Houthi group claimed on Saturday to have shot down a US-made reconnaissance drone, type ScanEagle, of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen's northeastern province of Marib.
It was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile while conducting hostile acts in north Marib, the group's military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said
The coalition, which has been fighting in Yemen since 2015, has not responded to the Houthi claim.
In June, the Iran-allied group said it shot down two ScanEagle drones in Marib but the US army said at the time it was not conducting operations in there.
The US has been providing intelligence and logistical support to the coalition backing the internationally recognised government of Yemen.
