SANAA (Debriefer)--The Houthi authorities on Monday executed four people who had been found guilty of torturing and murdering a cell phone store worker in Yemen's Houthi-controlled capital Sanaa.

The four were executed by firing squad inside the Central Prison in Sanaa amid tight security measures.

A fifth defendant was sentenced to five years in jail and ordered to pay blood money.

Abdullah Al-Aghbari was killed in August last year. He had worked at a cell phone store operated by Abdullah Al-Sibae, one of the convicts.

Two weeks following the murder, videos from surveillance cameras in the room where he was tortured and his veins cut were circulated on social media platforms.

They sparked mass demonstrations in Sanaa that demanded the execution of those responsible.
