Hodeida (Debriefer) MASAM engineering teams have removed more than 300,000 landmines and explosive devices since its launch in Yemen, the Saudi demining project in Yemen tweeted on Sunday.
300,852 Houthi-laid landmines, unexploded ammunitions and bombs were removed so far, MASAM said in a statement on its account.
In the last week alone, the engineering teams removed 2,440 bombs, it added, noting that last December saw the removal of 10,499 mines and other explosives.
The Iranian-backed Houthi group intensely plants landmines as a defense tactic to hinder rival troops' advancement, leaving a real risk to millions of Yemeni civilians.
Tens of Yemenis have been killed or injured by mines, with reports saying that the Houthi group laid more than one million landmines across Yemen.
Yemen has been racked by an armed conflict that broke out after the Houthi group ousted the UN-recognized government late in 2014.
