Riyadh - Sana'a (Debriefer) The Saudi-led coalition early on Monday carried out airstrikes on the Houthi-held al-Sawadia military camp in the Yemeni central governorate of Baydha, the Arab coalition said, but the Houthis said the bombing targeted a customs square.
The airstrikes came in response to threat and on basis of military necessity, the coalition said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The camp is used to store and supply military provisions and launch missiles and explosive drones, it added, as the coalition "takes all the needed measures in compliance with the international humanitarian law."
The Arab coalition gave civilians in Baydha an hours' grace to leave the camp and get their trucks out of its yard.
According to the Iranian-backed Houthi group, the coalition targeted customs area in Sawadia district in Baydha.
Coalition aircraft launched seven raids on Sawadia-based customs square, a part of Afar crossing, Houthi-run TV said.
The coalition warplanes also bombed a farm below Qondha Hill in Na'aman district in Baydha, leaving a number of civilians injured, al-Masyra added.
