Riyadh (Debriefer) More than 200 Houthi militants have been killed in airstrikes launched by Arab coalition warplanes targeting the Yemeni southeastern governorate of Shabwa, the Saudi-led coalition command said Sunday.
Fighter jets carried 28 raids against Houthi sites and gatherings in Shabwa in the last 24 hours, the coalition added in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The airstrikes left over 200 Houthi fighters killed and 22 combating vehicles damaged, according to the statement.
The coalition raids come as the Yemeni national army and Giant Brigades began an offensive on Saturday dawn to recapture districts seized by the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Shabwa.
The pro-government troops already retook control of Osailan district after clashes with Houthi forces, military sources said, with the troops continually advancing towards Baihan, another district west Shabwa.
