BAYDA (Debriefer)--The pro-government forces on Saturday pushed into Yemen's Bayda province, a day after recapturing the strategic town of Bayhan in the adjacent oil-rich province of Shabwah from the Iran-allied Houthi group.

A statement made by the Al-Amaliqah Brigades said three areas in Al-Na'man district, including the district centre, were seized following fierce battles with the Houthis.

The Houthi defences are collapsing and the pro-government forces are advancing in both provinces, the statement said

Bayda has borders with eight provinces, which makes it a strategic province in the war. It fell to the Houthis in mid-last year.

Early this month, the pro-government forces, with support from the Saudi-led coalition, launched the military operation the tornado of the south to drive the Houthis out of Shabwah.

So far, they have recaptured Bayhan and Usaylan and are now marching on the district of Al-Ain.
