Sana'a (Debriefer) The Iranian-backed Houthi group on Sunday dawn claimed shooting down a US-made spying drone in the Yemeni northeastern governorate of Marib.
"Our air defenses downed an American-made Scan Eagle espionage plane with a suitable weapon," spokesman for the Houthis said in a statement.
The drone was shot down on Saturday evening while in a hostile mission over Jowba district in Marib, Yahiya Sarie added.
For years, the United States provided the Arab coalition with arms and intelligence and logistic support.
Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab military coalition in Yemen since 26 March 2015, in support of forces loyal to President Hadi to retake areas seized by the Houthi group.
