Hajjah (Debriefer) The last three days of fighting with the Houthi group left 32 government troops killed and over 100 others injured in Haradh town in the Yemeni northwestern governorate of Hajjah.
Among the 32 deaths were 4 officers killed in the battles that erupted last Friday, military sources told AFP.
56 Houthi fighters were killed in confrontations and air strikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition, the sources added.
While they have yet to retake control of Haradh, the Yemeni government troops besieged the town bordering Saudi Arabia, the sources said, noting that battles are still boiling.
Last Friday, the Yemeni government-affiliated fifth military region deployed its "Happy Yemen Brigades" in a sudden campaign aimed to seize the strategic town of Haradh that hosts al-Tiwal crossing with Saudi Arabia.
