Marib (Debriefer) Yemen's government troops have foiled Houthi attempt to infiltrate in the northeastern governorate of Marib, the national army said on Sunday, less than 24 hour after the UN-announced 2-month truce came into effect.
The national army "thwarted an attempted filtration by the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Wadi al-Samra," west Marib, field sources said.
The last hours also saw a Houthi attack with drones on army's sites in al-Balaq al-Sharqi (or eastern Balaq) and al-Earif south Marib, the sources added.
The Houthi attacks coincided with Katyusha artillery shelling at a number of sites where government troops and public resistance are stationed, according to the sources.
The sources warned against Houthi persistently violating the truce and misusing the deal in deployment and reinforcing their military positions.
No immediate remarks have been released by the Houthi group on the army's claims.
