Aden (Debriefer) Seven civilians were killed on Wednesday in an attempted assassination that targeted a senior commander in the Security Belt forces affiliated to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Aden.
Brigadier General Saleh al-Sayied survived an assassination attempted by unknown gunmen using bomb-laden car downtown the Yemeni interim capital, security sources said.
While the officer survived the attempt unharmed, seven civilians were killed in the incident, the sources added.
No party has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack that followed several murders seen by the port city of Aden.
As early as med-June, the Yemeni journalist Saber al-Haidari was killed by unidentified assassins who planted an explosive device in his car in Aden.
