Aden (Debriefer) The Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Saturday called for the withdrawal of the Yemeni army's First Military Region troops from the southeastern governorate of Hadhramout.
At its weekly meeting chaired by Eidroos al-Zobaidi, the Emirati-backed separatist STC hailed the "escalating public movement" in Wady (valley of) Hadhramout and the neighboring governorate of Mahara in pursuit of the First Region troops' relocation to Marib.
"Mahara and Hadhramout locals' calls, for these troops to be moved away, are legitimate demands stipulated in the Riyadh Agreement," the STC chairmanship said in a statement.
The statement reiterated STC support for these demands aimed to grant Mahara and Hadhramout people the right to manage and secure their provinces.
