Sana'a (Debriefer) The United Arab Emirates plans to take control of the Yemeni eastern governorate of Hadhramout, member of the Houthi Supreme Political Council tweeted late on Friday.
The UAE is seeking to "join Hadhramout to its colonial range in Yemen, with deliberate steps lest provoke Saudi Arabia and publically unveil dispute" with Riyadh, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi added.
"We hope that our brothers in Hadhramout will be alert and reject sliding into projects of an occupier that wants them to remain fuel for his devastating plots."
No comments have been released by the UAE or Yemeni government on the Houthi remarks.
On Thursday, the Houthi-appointed governor of Hadhramout said the United States and France had transformed Yemen's eastern ports into military bases.
The American and French calls to militarize Dhaba port in Hadhramout pose a threat to Yemen's infrastructure, Loqman Ba-Ras added, as the oil terminal could become "a military legitimate target if it is handed over to the American invaders and their French supporters."
