Abyan (Debriefer) The al-Qaeda terrorist group on Thursday claimed responsibility for an explosion that targeted forces affiliated to the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Wednesday.
Three of the Emirates' mercenaries were killed and other were injured when they were targeted with an explosive device and a landmine in Mahfad district, in the southern governorate of Abyan, the Yemeni al-Qaeda local merchandise said in a statement.
The explosive device was planted on a motorbike used by STC soldiers, the statement read, as five other soldiers were attacked by a landmine.
On Wednesday, three STC soldiers were killed and three others injured in a twofold attack in Mahfad, east Abyan.
