The Yemeni internationally recognized government forces announced on Monday their control of the strategic al-Khanger camp in which the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) was stationed on Sunday in the border province of Jawf with Saudi Arabia.
A spokesman for the Jawf axis forces in the sixth military area of the government forces, Rabei al-Qurashi, said, "The national army was able to purify the camp of al-Khanjar and Erq Abu Da'ir in the Khub Washa'af district east of Jawf."
Al-Qurashi tweeted that that government forces opened the road linking the orphan region in the Khub Washa'af district, in the Marib Governorate, northeast of the country.
The Aden based Yemeni news agency "Saba", had quoted the "Media Center of the Yemeni army" as affirming that "the government forces have advanced 25 kilometers in the vicinity of al-Yatama after the Houthis were defeated."
The center said, "Military units carry out a massive bombing operation in the Al-Mahashima area and locations close to Al-Wjf and Al-Salila in the Khub Washaaf district to pursue the Houthis and the families of dozens of them in the desert after applying the siege on them in the vicinity of al-Yatama market."
In a related context, the Yemeni government forces said earlier yesterday that they had implemented a two-axis operation on the positions of Ansar Allah fighters (Houthis), with extensive air support from the Arab coalition, in the Al-Yatama area of the Khub Washa'af district, the largest directorates of Al-Jawf governorate.
A Yemeni military source said that the government forces took control of the al-Yatama region after regaining its market following violent clashes with Ansar Allah group (Houthis), which left dead and wounded on both sides.
