The Ministry of Health in the Yemeni internationally recognized government received a notification of a suspected case of the novel coronavirus last Thursday in the interim capital, Aden.
The ministry said in a statement that "the central operating room in the Ministry of Public Health and Population was informed of the presence of a suspected disease condition for a Yemeni citizen in the capital Aden, and immediately the rapid response team was assigned to go to the field for the purpose of investigation and taking samples according to the protocol adopted for such a case and in accordance with instructions And WHO guide."
"After careful investigation and taking initial examinations by the rapid response team: such as medical history and clinical signs and their conformity with the standard definition of the World Health Organization, it became clear that the patient complains of acute respiratory disorder, with pneumonia, twenty days ago, and these signs do not apply clinically with the standard definition." for the Coronavirus.", the statement reads.
The statement indicated that "the response team was assigned to take three laboratory samples from the patient at intervals (every 24 hours himself) to examine the Corona virus with a PCR device in public health laboratories in Aden."
The statement noted that the results of the tests will be reported "as soon as they are ready within 24 hours."
Yemen had reported one infection with the Coronavirus in the city of Al-Shehr in Hadhramout Governorate, east of the country, two weeks ago.
