Well-informed Yemeni sources said that a leader in the Houthi group (Ansar Allah) in Ibb governorate, central Yemen, died Saturday night, days after he was infected with the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The sources added that the leader of the group, Jamil Al-Kohlani, who is the head of the crowd committee and deputy superintendent of the Al-Sayani directorate in southern Ibb, died in Jeblah Hospital, days after he entered the healthy isolation and treatment as a result of being infected with the Corona epidemic.

The sources indicated that a number of members of the Al-Kohlani family were infected, including his wife, who recovered, in addition to other infecties among Houthi leaders who were mixed with Al-Kohlani and are currently subject to quarantine.

Medical sources confirmed the registration of a number of cases of corona epidemic in Ibb governorate, including deaths that were secretly buried, amid the Houthi group's discretion and denial of the epidemic in Ibb governorate.

A source closely related to the Houthi group revealed, on Saturday, that leaders in the first and second grades of the group were placed in a special quarantine, for fear of infection from the emerging epidemic of Coronavirus.
