The Saudi-led coalition has intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the "terrorist Houthi" group at the Saudi southern province of Najran, the coalition spokesman said Saturday.
Targeting residential neighborhoods in the bordering city, the missile was destroyed, with its shrapnel leaving some civilians with minor wounds, Colonel Turki al-Maliki added in a press release.
"The Houthis continue systematically targeting the civilians and civilian neighborhoods, which are protected under the international humanitarian law, with ballistic missiles and drones," he claimed.
The groups has so far fired 312 ballistic missiles in total at Saudi lands, according to the spokesman.
"The coalition joint forces command will take strict actions to neutralize and destroy these capacities in order to protect civilians and innocents from these terrorist acts, in accordance with the international humanitarian law," Maliki warned.
No comment has been issued by the Houthi group in response to the coalition's claims about the missile attack.
