Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Yemeni Parliament and Islah leading member, Sheikh Rabish Bin Ali Wahban, was killed on Wednesday in fighting with Houthi fighters in Nihm district, east Sana'a.
The Yemeni UN-recognized government troops are fighting fierce battles against the Iranian-backed Houthis in a bid to restore strategic sites seized by the group early this year.
The Islah Party's MP Bin Wahban served as vice-chairman of Sana'a Resistance Council that was established to counter Houthis.
The tribal leader was a key Sheikh of al-Haima district, west of Sana'a. After the Houthi group took control of Sana'a City and other northern governorates in September 2014, Sheikh Bin Wahban decided to leave the Yemeni capital and headed to the eastern governorate of Marib.
