Yemeni government says its troops fully recaptured the strategic camp of Khanjar in Jawf

Jawf (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official government troops, with support from tribal armed men, fully recaptured on Tuesday the Khanjar camp in the northern governorate of Jawf, a military source said, after fierce fighting with the Houthi group.

Led by Haikal Hantaf, the border guards' first brigade retook the strategic camp (based in Khab & al-Sha'af district) after months of Houthi seizure, the source added.

Violent battles are still raging at the camp's fringes, where fighting tirelessly continue from early morning in a bid to secure the whole site, he said.

At the same time, Jawf provincial capital of Hazm is seeing fierce clashes at which the government troops have made relative advance westward the city.

In the neighboring governorate of Marib, most fronts witnessed watchful calm on Tuesday, after one week of hostilities pitting the official army and tribesmen against Houthi fighters.
