Marib (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official army has seized strategic sites in the northeastern governorate of Marib, september.net said Friday, after fierce battles with the Houthi group.
The government troops in western front of Murad Mont made field victory and retook sites from Houthi fighters, the defense ministry-run website quoted the front commander as saying.
Houthi [indefinite] fighters were killed and injured in the fighting, and diversity of weapons were restored, Colonel Ahmed Mojaidei added.
The official troops launched a surprise attack on Houthi-held strategic sites in al-Hadba'a front, between Murad Mont and Rahaba district in Marib, firsthand sources said.
The troops seized the strategic site of al-Kharaba, one of the most significant sites in Murad Mont, the sources added.
Last Sunday, the official army claimed that Houthi forces suffered grave losses in lives and ordnance in "failed attacks" on government troops sites in Murad Mont and Mahiliah.
According to the Houthi account, the group's fighters made key wines and advanced at different fronts in Marib.
