ADEN (Debriefer)--Yemen's government on Thursday requested the International Monetary Fund to facilitate loans needed to boost the national economy.
The request was made by Minister of Finance Salim bin Breik at a meeting with the Executive Director of the IMF Mahmoud Mohieldin, according to the state Saba news agency.
Bin Breik expressed his confidence that the IMF is aware of challenges facing Yemen's economy and need to get loans to support economic recovery.
Moreover, he asked the IMF to help the government develop the state fiscal policy.
The Finance Ministry is making arrangements for a donor meeting at which Yemen will brief international donors on its technical and financial needs to face economic challenges, he said.
