Hodeida (Debriefer) The Yemeni Joint Forces (JF) on Tuesday shot down a Houthi bomb-laden drone in the western governorate of Hodeida, the Giant Brigades media center said late on Tuesday in a statement.
The drone bore 40-mm bombs and tries to hover over military sites in Hais district, south Hodeida, the statement added.
The Hais front saw dangerous escalation by the Houthi group in the last few days, the center claimed, posting a footage for the downed drone.
While no remarks were released by the Houthis, their al-Masyra TV claimed that the JF committed 226 violations of Hodeida ceasefire deal in 24 hours, including 56 missile and artillery shells, and 145 shots from different arms.
Among the breaches are 30 sorties with espionage drones over southern and northern areas in Hodeida, it added.
JF artillery shelling targeted a private house in Tohaita district, south Hodeida, leaving a women injured.
The Yemeni government and the Houthi group repeatedly trade blames for violating the UN-brokered ceasefire pact reached in December 2018 after 8 days of talks hosted in Stockholm.
Yemen has been racked by an armed conflict that broke out after the Iranian-backed Houthis ousted the UN-recognized government late in 2014.
Yemen 6-year war has left 233,000 people killed, hundreds of thousands injured, and 3 million displaced, triggering what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with most of the population in need for a type of humanitarian aid and immediate protection.
