SANAA (Debriefer)--The Houthi group said on Saturday the US-Gulf meeting on Yemen which was recently held in New York came within hypocrisy and political deception exercised by the US and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council

The meeting of the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken with the Gulf Ministers of Foreign Affairs considered what is happening in Yemen as a civil war and a Saudi-led intervention against Iran's hostility against the Arab Gulf states, but the truth is that what is happening is a foreign aggression against Yemen in which the US has been deeply involved, the group's Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf said, according to the Sanaa-based Saba agency.

Sharaf criticised Washington's condemnation of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia which he said come within legitimate response to thousands of Saudi-led airstrikes and crimes in Yemen.

Claiming that Iran is interfering in Yemen will not serve the US Department of State at a time when the whole world knows about Iranian-Saudi talks, he said.

At their meeting, Blinken and Gulf ministers discussed mutual approach to end the war in Yemen and ways to face Iranian hostilities in the region, according to media reports.
