Taiz (Debriefer) Calls to reopen blocked roads in Taiz reoccur on the surface on Friday after months of silence, as the UN exerts intense efforts to persuade the Yemeni warring parties into accepting a new proposal to extend the truce set to expire on 2 October.
The UN-mediated truce's success is greatly linked to the reopening of Taiz main roads, member of the government negotiation team tweeted.
The Houthis "practice political deception" and lies in this humanitarian file, which the Iranian-backed group tries to use as a military and political pressure card, Nabeel Jamel added.
"While they call for full opening of Sana'a airport and Hodeida port and payment of civil servants' salaries, the Houthis show historical spite and retaliatory acts against Taiz people and reject to open the city's main roads."
"The Houthi political deception is no longer convinced by members of the group itself, not to mention the international community," the Yemeni official argued.
